LEIXÕES PORT DAY, 15TH SEPT

The 10th edition of the Leixões Port Day is scheduled for September 15 and will open the doors of the Port of Leixões infrastructure to the city.

There will be activities in the emblematic Porto Cruise Terminal and at the south pier of the Port of Leixões.

Porto Cruise Terminal it’s a beautiful spiral shaped building. It was named building of the Year 2017 in the Public Architecture category by the ArchDaily. Its shiny white exterior is made of tiles from the Portuguese tiles company Vista Alegre.

Panoramic buses will take visitors to the port area. There the daily life of what is one of the largest ports in Iberian Peninsula can be appreciated. And this will be an opportunity to see various types of reservoirs dedicated to different types of cargo.

The Center of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR), located at the Cruise Terminal building, will open its facilities and organize scientific activities at the 2nd floor.

In addition, other activities include the display of “The Conspiracy of Forms” from the Serralves collection and the photography exhibition “Focusing on the Port of Leixões” of the 7th APDL Photo Contest.

As for the maritime activities Leça Naval Club is organizing the 4^th Leixões Port Regatta at the north pier of Leixões Marina.

Celebrations begin at 10:00 a.m. and go on until 7 p.m.
